CHICAGO, IL July 31, 2013 – Governor Pat Quinn today congratulated a dozen companies and organizations chosen to receive the 2013 Governor’s Export Awards for outstanding accomplishments in the export of Illinois goods and services around the globe.

Illinois is the largest exporting state in the Midwest and the fifth largest in the U.S. Exports from Illinois rose 5.1 percent to $68.1 billion in 2012 after soaring 30 percent in 2011. Direct exports account for nearly 10 percent of the Gross State Product.

Automated Industrial Machinery, Inc., manufactures industrial CNC bending machinery and has grown to become the premier CNC bending machine supplier serving customers worldwide. AIM began exporting in 1995 and primary international markets include Latin America/Caribbean, Europe, Canada, Asia/Asia-Pacific and Africa/ Middle East. AIM was a 2011 Governor’s Export Award winner.

Governor Quinn Announces 2013 Illinois Export Awards
$68 Billion in Exports Drive Economic Growth, Create Jobs

CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today congratulated a dozen companies and organizations chosen to receive the 2013 Governor’s Export Awards for outstanding accomplishments in the export of Illinois goods and services around the globe.

“It’s important to recognize the contribution Illinois exporters are making to the economic health of our state,” Governor Quinn said. “Small and medium sized companies like those honored today play a vital role in creating millions of jobs and driving economic growth in Illinois.”

Illinois is the largest exporting state in the Midwest and the fifth largest in the U.S. Exports from Illinois rose 5.1 percent to $68.1 billion in 2012 after soaring 30 percent in 2011. Direct exports account for nearly 10 percent of the Gross State Product.

“Illinois is known around the world for its high-quality products and strong work ethic,” Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Director Adam Pollet said. “Finding new markets for Illinois products and services means more jobs at home.”

Governor Quinn has worked hard to expand global trade partnerships, leading trade missions to China, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. The Illinois Office of Trade and Investment has also leveraged federal funds to assist hundreds of small to mid-sized companies gain access to fast-growing markets, raise the value of their export sales and fuel job growth at home.

Governor Quinn established the Illinois Export Advisory Council to work to increase exports by providing high-level recommendations on state and federal policies and programs. The Council consists of 21 top Illinois CEOs and private sector leaders that drive international trade for Illinois. Council members serve as international ambassadors for Illinois, helping businesses showcase Illinois’ competitive strengths in the international marketplace.

EXPORTER OF THE YEAR
Automated Design Corporation, Romeoville. ADC began designing and building quality custom automation for the automotive industry and quickly grew to design solutions for a great range of services and industries world-wide. Today, ADC is the world leader in sports research and development testing equipment, having provided solutions to every major sports manufacturer. ADC began exporting in 1992 and primary international markets include Asia/Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Automated Industrial Machinery, Inc., Addison. AIM manufactures industrial CNC bending machinery and has grown to become the premier CNC bending machine supplier serving customers worldwide. AIM began exporting in 1995 and primary international markets include Latin America/Caribbean, Europe, Canada, Asia/Asia-Pacific and Africa/ Middle East. AIM was a 2011 Governor’s Export Award winner.

Trans Coastal Supply Company, Inc., Decatur and Elwood. Trans Coastal Supply Company is one of the top five agricultural commodity exporter companies in the United States. They provide export customers with agricultural grains and products and their onsite laboratories provide both inbound and outbound quality control for their customers. Over the last three years their container export sales have more than doubled.

Transco Products, Inc., Chicago. Transco has been meeting the growing safety, efficiency and security demands of the nuclear power industry since its inception. The products and services of Transco are in use at over 160 nuclear power plants worldwide, including every operating nuclear station in the United States. Transco began exporting in 1975 and in 2012, 67 percent of their total annual sales were attributed to exports. Primary international markets include Asia/Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS EXPORTER
Ag World International Corp., Bloomington. Ag World International, Corp. is a livestock and genetic exporter, selling semen, embryos and live animals – swine, sheep and goats. Primary international markets include China, Africa/Middle East, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, and Canada. New export markets this year include Myanmar and St. Kitts.

NEW EXPORTER
Dutch Farms, Inc., Chicago. Dutch Farms’ annual export sales are in excess of $1 million. A Distributor of refrigerated dairy, deli, bakery and meat products, Dutch Farms serves grocery warehouses and stores of every size. Dutch Farms began exporting in 2008 and primary international markets include: Asia/Asia-Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean.

Lamboo, Inc., Springfield. Lamboo manufactures performance-based engineered bamboo for structural, architectural, and industrial applications worldwide. Products include structural components, beams, window and door components, panels and veneer. Lamboo began exporting in 2009 and in 2012 the company increased its export sales 63 percent over 2011. Primary international markets include Europe, Africa/Middle East, Canada and Latin America/Caribbean.
Rosseto, Lincolnwood. Rosseto is a wholesale manufacturer of high-quality buffet solutions that help create beautiful food presentations, and the top brand of dry food dispensers with the best portion control. In 2012, Rosseto successfully entered the new markets of Singapore and Brazil with plans to expand in all major countries in different regions to serve as a hub for smaller countries. Primary international markets include Asia/Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, Africa/Middle East and Canada..

Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc., Loves Park. Aqua-Aerobic is a manufacturer of wastewater treatment equipment and systems for municipal and industrial wastewater. They began exporting in 1974 and primary international markets include Asia/Asia-Pacific, Latin America/Caribbean, Africa/ Middle East, Canada and Europe.

Elastec/American Marine, Carmi. Elastec/American Marine manufactures pollution recovery systems with a core competency in international oil spill recovery. Their products include oil spill equipment (skimmers, containment boom, fire boom, dispersant application equipment), incinerators, vacuum systems, portable tanks, pumps, specialized vehicles, trash and garbage collection boats, hydraulic power packs, fumigation tarps, turbidity curtains and floating custom containment systems for debris, jellyfish, cranberry collection, invasive plant control. EXPORT AWARENESS AND DEVELOPMENT
Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at Governor’s State University, University Park. The International Trade Center (ITC) was established in 2011 as part of the National Export Initiative with the purpose of providing trade assistance and resources to Illinois exporters. In the past two and a half years, the center has served more than 150 clients with export sales of $3.5 billion and has helped companies create 115 new jobs and retain 422 jobs. Mary Ma, director of the ITC at Governor’s State University, and several of the ITC’s company clients have been recognized nationally and internationally for contributions to U.S. exports, including past recipients of Governor’s Export Awards and the SBA 2012 Small Business Exporter of the Year Award.
